Gasoline engine: How do you adjust the choke linkage (nut-bolt spring linkage) and needle valve carburetor (screw-spring) for optimal performance ?

The settings were moved and everything seems okay. Just wondered if there is a set up proceedure for optimum performance ?

Generators used for electricity

The generator(s) could be run off an axle/drive shaft of the same vehicle to extend the range from 150 miles out to maybe 500+ miles without having to stop for a recharge. If it isn’t possible to power generators off the drive shaft or axle, then could a tiny diesel motor be used to run the generator. This would be used on a vehicle the size of an average family car or small pick-up

Elec. bill is too high, so I wanna run 2HP swimming pool pump via generator. It’s 240V. How big a generator do I need? Is diesel less to purchase than gas? Is diesel cheaper to run? Can I run the pool say 6 hrs a day on generator designed for emergency back-up?

I’m thinking most of the Carbon monoxide comes out the exhaust pipe. Why not add a longer pipe(12 ft) to extend the exhaust pipe so the exhaust can be directed outdoors away from the indoors. Also, high velocity fans can be used to blow the air away from the indoors. Two carbon monoxide detectors would be helpful. limiting the time of day and the number of hours of use might help. definitely don’t want to sleep while the generator is running.

I have two steel "jerry" cans that i used to carry gasoline in, now I want to store diesel fuel for an emergency generator in them. after I empty them will residual gasoline contaminate the diesel beyond usefulness?

how do you regulate the speed?

I have a van and wish to kit it out with generator, welder and power tools. The genrator needs to cope with a 180amp rated welder plus 110v power tools (grinder, drill etc) being used at the same time. The generator needs to be diesel powered not petrol. The ones i’ve looked at are rated in Kva’s. Not too sure how to work out how many Kva’s i will require. Help please.

Just the AC generator without the diesel or gasoline engine will do! Anywhere between 0.5 to 1kva will be just right!

the invertor did not need to be turned on. i just needed to hook up the cables. could any damage have been done to the vehicle that im not noticing?

How Can i connect a 5000W portable gas generator to power an entire house??? The home has been wired but is not connected to the grid no braker box, no meter or anything all the rooms were wired together. No major appliances are going to be used just 5 15watt bulbs, a 21in TV, a radio, hair dryer, cell phone charger, and a laptop. What would be the safest way to power this house using a 5000w generator????

This technology is called tricogeneration, but is seem as though not even money can buy it. There seems to be many false leads on the internet or there are lots of prototypes that have not hit the market yet. I have just spent 0,000.00 U.S.D on a water treatment plant and a seperate diesel generator to run a resort. I would be willing to pay much more for a more progressive system. Can some one put the components together and sell me a system that gives you distilled water, Power generation and utilizes the waste heat to produce either refrigeration and or air conditioning? The need for a bio-Diesel or solar electric generator that produces fresh water and cooling as a biproduct is crucial in most parts of the world. I have found a solar desalination plant on the internet that they produce in India but have not yet been able to buy them due to lack of responce from the web site contact (a very common thing on the internet). They are either booked, don’t care or can’t perform.V

When the household generator quicks on in an outage, the lights are brighter, the floor fans work better, etc…. When we are using the public utilities current, the lights are dim, the fans are slow and every time our wellpump quicks on, the lights flicker and dim more. AND, when we have the generator on automatic, it turns on every time the wellpump comes on and then shuts off shortly after the wellpump stops. We have had the current checked by public utilities here and they said the volts coming into the house are fine but the amps which should be at 125 is only 17! The utility company (we live on an island in the Caribbean) says there must be a problem both at the pole AND in the house but how can this be when we have no problems in the house when the generator is on? Also, will running our appliances and electronics with such low amp availability damage them?
